As the end of the school year closes in fast, parents, relatives and friends hurry to find graduation gifts for graduating seniors.
“I think that graduation gifts should either be meaningful or something that the person can use for college,” senior Samantha Mao said.
Graduation Gift Do’s:
Money
Laptop
Car
Dorm supplies
Jewelry
“I would like money to help out for college expenses,” Mao said. “It’s not a super thoughtful present, but even 100 dollars can go a long way for a college student.”
Other students like gifts that can be used for more recreational purposes.
“I think it would be really cool to get a GoPro. You can document all of the new adventures that will take place in this new chapter of our lives,” senior Julia McCarthy said.
Graduation Gift Don’ts:
Stuffed animals
Generic “you did it” Coffee mugs, shirts, socks, posters, pillows and books
Picture frames with their own graduation photo inside
Compasses
Snow globes
Many students would rather have a meaningful present then a generic graduation gift that will never get used.
“A picture frame would be a bad gift,” senior Justin Hang said. “The gift should be unique to graduation, not something you would get for your birthday.”
Graduation is coming very soon, so don’t wait until last minute to pick out a gift for someone meaningful in your life.
