The accolades keep pouring in for the schools journalism department.
Over the summer the staff learned that they had won a Gold Medal from Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the premier high school journalism rating system in the country.
Just two weeks later, another major award arrived, this time from the National Scholastic Press Association. NSAP recognized the Eagle’s Eye with All-American status.
With the two awards, the newspaper was thrust into consideration for both Pacemaker and Crown awards. Although the staff did not win either award, it was the best the journalism program has reached in the 12 years the school has been open.
