Elden Ring doles out abuse to players who dare to win
Elden Ring, the newest FromSoftWare game, is an open-world adventure and worth checking out if you like similar games like “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and the challenge of the Dark Souls franchise.
If you can stomach lots of abuse from a game without raging and breaking a controller or worse, then there is a good chance you will love Elden Ring.
Even if you aren’t ready to win every battle, there is so much out in the world to explore and do in the game — even if you have to run away from fights that you know you can’t finish.
Elden Ring is a game where you have to fight your way through tough bosses to become the Elden Lord. The game provides lots of flexibility in how you approach it and take your journey through the game world. The developers break open the box, providing lots of options to allow players to have fun.
While the gameplay may be challenging at first, anybody can play it in any way they want. The only complaints about the game are performance and the lock-on camera, which can be annoying in certain situations. Those are the worst things about the game that bother some people, but FromSoftware said they are working to fix them.
Without spoiling the boss fights, I can at least share that there are about 103 unique boss fights. They each have their own move sets, making it very challenging because no boss fight is the same.
Overall, the gameplay is fun and challenges you to learn from your mistakes. Elden Ring gives you different builds to choose, including hero, bandit, astrologer, warrior, prisoner, confessor, wretch, vagabond, prophet, and samurai. They all have their own strength and weakness stats, and have move sets similar to the archetypes in other similar games.
I give the gameplay a rating of eight out of 10. I would have given it a 10, if not for the performance and the bad lock-on camera.
Additionally, the graphics are stunning. The cinematography is not always jaw-dropping, but it gets better in the boss battles where it really showcases the game’s graphics. FromSoftware has a reputation for strong music in their games, and that is the case with Elden Ring, which has some of the best music from start to finish that I’ve ever heard. The starting main menu and the boss’s main theme are particularly exciting. In my opinion, “Elden Ring” by far has the best soundtrack in video game history.
A typical Elden Ring campaign can take you anywhere from 20 to 100 hours to beat. And when you do beat the game, you’re not even close to completing everything because there is so much to do in the game. The open world, free-roaming format and the variety of player types make the game infinitely replayable. Moreover, once you beat the game the first time, players can use the “New Game Plus” feature in which they can keep all their weapons, armor, and spells. You can also change your build to something else to challenge yourself.
Ultimately,“Elden Ring is an amazing but imperfect game. It has its ups and downs, although the team says they’re working to fix the bugs. The game is most definitely worth your time. The music, the gameplay, and the atmosphere is just amazing. Overall, I’m going to give this game a 95% rating. It could have earned 100%, but some small issues can make the game annoying.
