Top 5 places to hang out with friends in Austin
We all need a break from the covid situation, and some of us want to see our friends and hang out with them like before, but we can’t. With all of the COVID-19 regulations, we forget to enjoy the moment with the people we’re with, but some places can make you forget that COVID is even a thing.
Cidercade
The first place on my list is a new location that just opened up here in Austin. Cidercade is located at 600 E Riverside Dr near Lady Bird Lake. This place is one of the best arcades you, friends, and family can go and spend some time with. This place is found with over 150+ games, but the best part is that you will just need to pay a $10 admission fee for unlimited play. There is no need to go looking for a restaurant once you get hungry there is a Pizza place inside that serves many types of pizza and salads.
Austin Roller Rink
Second, we have something that might not pull your attention but allow me to change your mind. The name of this place is Austin Roller Rink located at 11600 Manchaca Rd #101. And you might be thinking “of all the things you could have picked, why here?” Hear me out, this place can be very enjoyable. There is no need to bring anything, just a positive attitude. They supply you with everything you might need like roller skates and safety accessories. The entrance fee is $10 per person and there is a snack bar with a small arcade area.
Downtown
Third, we have something a lot of people enjoy doing, and that is to walk around downtown.” But I live here and know this place by memory”. Well, have you walked around downtown at night time? And you might think this is dangerous but when night falls street lights light up. You get to see Austin light up. What else can you do at night? Well, the lights can make a nice background and make it look very aesthetic.
Urban Air
This next place will have you jumping with joy literally. Urban Air is located at 4500 S Pleasant Valley Rd Building 1, Suite 106. Here you can enjoy many things in one location, jump on the trampolines, ride the indoor zipline, play on the rope course, wall climbing, and laser tag. The passes range from $19 – to $35 plus other things you might need or want. There is a food area where you can eat and purchase food. They do still follow Covid protocols like staying 6 feet apart and contactless food service.
Butler District Park
The last place is a park that is well known as a tourist place. The Butler District park is located at 1000 Barton Springs Rd near the Palmer Events Center. This park is a nice place to have a picnic or just to enjoy a walk. They have a playground with multiple things you can do that is not just for kids, like playing chess on their big chess board or playing ping-pong. Near the hill, there is a splash pad, The Liz Carpenter Splash Pad, where kids go and enjoy time running around getting wet. But once night falls this place starts to light up. As you see the water changing color as they rise and fall is amazing. You can take pictures and enjoy the light show.
This is just a small list of things you can do here in Austin. The places I pick I’ve been there and enjoy. This can be something for a big or small group or even go alone. The important thing is to have a good time and forget we are in a pandemic.
