Not only is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) one of the most successful movie franchises in history, but the films included in this series have won acclaim from critics and fans alike. The Eagle’s Eye took a close look at the top MCU films as ranked by Rotten Tomatoes, a website that aggregates the ratings of critics and fans.
5. Shang-Chi and The Legends of the Ring
Shang-Chi came out in 2021 and it landed in the top five best MCU movies receiving a 91% of Rotten Tomatoes. This movie deserved to be in the top 5 of best MCU films. It’s unique. I love the mix of Asian culture, family, and martial arts. It’s separate from the rest of MCU minus a couple of minor references so it feels like its own.
4. Thor: Ragnarok
Thor: Ragnarok is rated with 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. Director Taika Waititi made a complete 180 on this movie making it into a superhero comedy. The result is a film that delivers amazing visuals and great laughs but feels slight and forgettable as soon as it’s finished.
3. Iron Man 1
This is a film that brought us the snarky, yet intelligent Tony Stark. Downey Jr. will always be known as Iron Man. With a 94% score of rotten tomatoes, this film is positioned in the top 3 of the best MCU movies. I absolutely like this movie. Everything is so good from the acting to action, and the CGI all blends so perfectly to give such a great feeling.
2. Avengers: Endgame
With so many heroes packed into one story, it continues to be the one project that remains on everyone’s lips when they think of Marvel. This film is placed in the top 2 with 94% of Rotten Tomatoes. This movie is amazing and is one of my favorite MCU movies. In this movie, there are moments to celebrate, cherish and love together as fans. There were so many ways this fight could fail and yet it never did, giving the audience wonderful, emotionally charged action and an epic feel that made the film one of the best superhero movies of all time.
1. Black Panther
With a 96% score, Black Panther received accolades for its talent, storyline, costumes, and music. This film shows how good storytelling could make the audience fall in love with the characters. This film inspire the world in a way that it changed how the audience sees the world, showing that they can significantly game-change for cultural significance, for the superhero storytelling, and for the representation of the audience in film. This was a movie that was so much more than a superhero movie and that’s why it deserved to be in top 5.
