Crowds gathered and millions of televisions were tuned in to the Presidential Election on November 6, 2012. As the votes kept coming in from all across the nation, the spectators waited patiently to find out who their president was going to be for the next four years and represent them. The election battle was between Democrat, Barack Obama and Republican, Mitt Romney.
As time ticked on, Romney led the electoral vote count in the beginning until around the 100 mark, Obama’s votes shot up and he reached the necessary count of 270, causing the former U.S President, Barack Obama to be re-elected and stay in The White House with his family for another four years.
With every competition, there is always an opposing side that has their thoughts and opinions on how the outcome of a win or loss is. “I was really unhappy when I found out the results of the election,” San Antonio tourist Mike Hansen said “I feel that Romney had some great ideas that could really work and change this country in a positive way.”
Others however, disagreed with these types of statements, “I was so eager and excited when I saw the outcome of Obama’s victory!” Journalist Julia Gomez said. “I can’t wait to see and experience all the different changes Obama has in store for our nation for the next four years.”
Although Obama being in office for another four years brings many different opinions among supporters and non supporters, the change in this nation is believed to be very possible with a little cooperation and patience.
