EE: What are your goals for your team this season?

KC: I want to build a program where athletes feel welcomed, loved, and cared for. I want to make good people, good students, and good athletes.

EE: What are you coaching and/or teaching?

KC: I’m the head coach for girls’ soccer and I teach educational services.

EE: What brought you to Akins?

KC: A lot of the students here at Akins remind me of my younger self. I want to be a role model for them and show them that with hard work and dedication anything is possible.

KC: This is my 5th year teaching and my 4th year coaching.

EE: What school are you coming from?

KC: I was an assistant coach here at Akins while working at Cunningham Elementary as a bilingual teacher.

EE: What is your coaching philosophy?

KC: I believe in player development and human development. Maximizing their athletic potential for performance on the soccer field and using soccer to instill qualities such as leadership, competition, and hard work.
