If you have no idea what you should do this summer, then go to the movie theatre because this summer might be the best few months of peak movies. Here are the movies that will come out this summer.
Thunderbolts*:
Thunderbolts* will come out on May 2. In this film, The Thunderbolts get together in a world without the Avengers there to save the city and face a powerful being called The Sentry, who is played by Lewis Pullman. The movie will have Yelena Belova, The Winter Soldier, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and U.S. Agent as the members of the Thunderbolts.
Final Destination: Bloodlines:
Final Destination comes back to the big screens on May 16, 2025. In this film, the gruesome deaths that have happened in the previous Final Destination movies are actually a generational curse, and a college student tracks down the person who could break the curse and save her family from death.
Karate Kid: Legends:
A brand new Karate Kid movie will release on May 30th, 2025, with Ralph Macchio and Jackie Chan reprising their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Mr. Hahn from the 2010 reboot. In this film, Daniel Larusso and Mr. Hahn help Li learn both the Miyagi-do style and the Kung Fu style to win the karate competition.
Megan 2:
The killer robot is coming back to theatres June 27, but they’re doing an action take on the movie instead of horror like in the first film. This film takes place 2 years after the first movie. The rogue robot, Megan, will be coming back to her original robotic body to fight a military-grade robot called Amelia
28 Years Later:
The horror movie “28 Years Later” will be coming out on June 20, starring Aaron-Taylor Johnson. This will be the third movie in the “ 28 Days Later” franchise. In this film, the main characters will be going into the mainland where the rage virus has been for nearly 3 decades, but this time the virus has mutated, which has caused the infected and survivors to change.
Jurassic World: Rebirth:
Jurassic World: Rebirth will come out on July 2, as the fourth installment in the Jurassic World franchise, with two new main characters, Zora Bennett being played by Scarlett Johansson, and Dr. Henry Loomis, played by Jonathan Bailey. The movie takes place 5 years after Jurassic World: Dominion, and it will be about Zora Bennett going on an expedition in the most dangerous place on earth to secure genetic material from dinosaurs whose DNA can benefit mankind, with the iconic Spinosaurus from Jurassic Park 3 making a return, even more dangerous.
Smurfs:
The Smurfs will be coming back to the big screen on July 18, but as a musical starring Rihanna as Smurfette. The movie will be about Smurfette leading the Smurfs to the real world on a mission to rescue Papa Smurf after he was captured by evil wizards Gargamel and Razamel.
Superman:
Superman hits the big screens on July 11, becoming the first film in the new DCU that introduces David Corenswet as Superman. In this film, Superman will be facing the iconic super villain Lex Luthor once again, with other superheroes making an appearance in the film, like Hawkgirl being played by Isabella Marced and Green Lantern/Guy Gardner being played by Nathan Fillion.
Fantastic Four: First Steps:
Fantastic Four: First Steps will come out on July 25th. This movie brings the superhero family back to the bring screen to battle Galactus and Silver Surfer but with a brand new cast starring Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.
