The villains are extremely important to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because there would be no story without them.

Villains are just as important in driving the plot of a good action movie because there have been many villains in the MCU, but not all of them were a threat to the universe or were terrifying or iconic.

I’ve made a list of who I believe have been the most important villains and have had the biggest impact on the MCU.

1. Thanos

Thanos was the most powerful villain the Avengers ever faced, and the build-up to his character was amazing. He was a villain with a good and realistic motivation. Thanos was the only villain to win against the Avengers as well and actually succeed in their plan like wiping out 50% of all living creatures in Avengers: Infinity War. That makes him the number 1 MCU villain.

2. Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch is the most powerful and scariest villain in the MCU. Her motivations were understandable but it didn’t make her the most dangerous because she only wanted her children, not to harm everyone on the planet. She is unstoppable in Doctor Strange: In The Multiverse Of Madness which is shown when she beats the Illuminati by herself in her weakest form and at the end of the film, the only person who can beat her is herself, which puts her in the number 2 best MCU villain.

3. High Evolutionary

In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3, The High Evolutionary was shown to be the sickest head villain since General Dreykov in the Black Widow movie. The High Evolutionary trying to create a Utopia and destroying that world every time there is a mistake makes him a menacing and powerful villain.

4. Ultron

Ultron is a great villain, his motivations are realistic, and he was very close to winning. He’s a very terrifying and dangerous villain due to his having access to nearly everything on the internet like nuclear codes. If it wasn’t for J.A.R.V.I.S., Ultron would have most likely won in Avengers: Age Of Ultron.

5. Agatha Harkness

Agatha Harkness is a very interesting and powerful villain. In episode 8 of Wandavision, it was revealed that she was actually Agatha Harkness and she has been basically manipulating Wanda the whole time. It was such a crazy surprise. Agatha’s ability to steal the magic when used against her already makes her insanely powerful.
