With week 3 of the NFL season coming in a couple of days, the 2nd week has been filled with plenty of talk about the exciting players of the year so far. There’s a lot of activity storming around the league, including trade talks, early Super Bowl predictions, player performances, and how they will lead their teams.
For NFL fans, I have compiled a list of the top 5 most talked-about players currently and what fans expect from them. Would you agree with this list?
1: Josh Allen, Quarterback, Buffalo Bills
2024 MVP winner, career-low six interceptions. Allen is set to rely on a wider assortment of targets, including promising second-year receiver Keon Coleman and tight end DaltonKincaid, who could be a breakout star after recovering injuries in 2024.
2: Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens
Almost secured the 2024 MVP just off a couple of passing yards. He stated in an interview that 2025 was his season, and he looks forward to claiming the 2025 MVP award.
Baltimore fans will hold him to his word and see if he can lead them to a Super Bowl victory and secure his third career MVP award, and break the off-season curse.
3: Joe Burrow, Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals
Coming off a career-best season and MVP-caliber performance,set a single-season franchise record for passing yards and touchdowns, and threw fewer than 10 interceptions for the third time in league history for a 40-touchdown passer.
Fans expect him and Ja’Marr Chase to be a real threat with their chemistry and cause many problems in the AFC…if their defense holds up.
4: Saquon Barkley, Running Back, Philadelphia Eagles
With his first season with the Eagles, he put up 2000+ rushing yards, secured a Super Bowl, and came 3rd in MVP voting.
All of the league has eyes on him. He is a threat that should not be reckoned with, and fans will see if he will put up another amazing performance and get them back-to-back Super Bowl wins
5: Travis Hunter- Rookie, Cornerback- Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars
Won the 2024 Heisman trophy and the AP College Football Player OTY and Sporting News Player OTY, and many beyond many accomplishments with the Colorado Buffaloes. Being in 2025, fresh off many accomplishments, there arehigh expectations to see if he will be able to replicate the same performance he achieved in college. Both playing wide receiver and cornerback.
