Akins goes on lockdown briefly after anonymous call
February 10, 2015
Akins administrators briefly put the campus on lockdown today at about 11:40 a.m. after an anonymous call reported the possibility of two students having explosive devices at school.
Austin ISD police officers immediately located the students and found nothing suspicious, according to a letter sent home to parents from interim principal Brandi Hosack.
After police determined that the campus was safe, Akins resumed its usual schedule and normal activities.
At this time, there is no information to indicate danger to students or faculty.
