The Akins graduation ceremony is set for Wednesday, May 31 at 7 p.m. at the Toney Burger Stadium, which is located at 3200 Jones Road in Austin.

Student Directions

Graduating seniors can carpool and park at the stadium. Parking is limited. Once there, students should enter by the highway side, which is opposite from Jones Road, before 5 p.m. Students are advised to bring bottles of water. Students will assemble in a staging area

• Graduates should arrive at Burger Stadium no later than 5:45 PM
  • Student ONLY entrance is behind the fence between the baseball field and the gym
  • No parents will be allowed in the student area
• Upon arrival students should have graduation gowns over their arms
  • This is a safety procedure and also an opportunity to check for proper attire
• Once graduates enter they will need to find their line and stand with the teacher leader in the order listed on the pole
• While in line, students will be given one card for the name reader
  • It is important that you do not lose these cards! 
• You will not be allowed to leave anything in the lines so do not bring:
  • Purses, bags, extra clothing, cameras, or anything that you cannot put in your pockets

Parent Directions

• Families of students should arrive at Burger Center by 5:00 PM to get seated
• Only graduates will be allowed in the tented area where graduates will assemble before the ceremony
• Parking for families will be on the North side of the stadium nearest Ben White Blvd.
• Parents and families will be allowed to enter the complex at 5:00 PM
• 8 guests per graduate – no tickets are being issued
• At the conclusion of the ceremony, families should find their graduates and make their way out of the parking lot by 8:00 PM

Families and friends can park at Burger Stadium, but Austin ISD will be running shuttle buses from the Akins parking lot from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. This is the recommended way to get to graduation for parents and family.
