Brenden Kelly

The reason why I’m making this list is that football season has just started up again, after a 7-month hiatus. I thought since the NFL Season is starting up again, it would be a good idea to make a top 5 list for something about the league. I heard that someone was making a top 5 NFL Teams list, and I thought it would be a good idea to make a top 5 for NFL players. So, This list consists of the top 5 NFL Players in my opinion.

#1:Patrick Mahomes

I don’t think it’s a surprise to anyone that watches football that Patrick Mahomes lands #1 on a list of the best NFL players. Even though he didn’t win MVP last year, I still believe that he is the best NFL Player as of right now. In 2020, he threw for 4,470 yards, while also throwing 38 touchdowns with only 6 interceptions. In years prior, he also was in the conversation for best NFL player, but I think last year he finally proved it, bringing the Chiefs to the Superbowl for the 2nd time in his career. Even though they ended up losing the Superbowl, Mahomes is only 25 years old, and the league has to look forward to seeing him dominate for a long time.

#2:Aaron Donald

Although Donald is the only defensive player in the top 5, he could very well end up being one of the best defensive players of all time. Since 2014, he has been destroying the opposing team’s O-Line and disrupting the running and passing game for every team he faces. In 2018, he had his best season, it included him grabbing 20.5 sacks, which is 2 off the sack record for a season, 59 tackles, and 4 forced fumbles. He’s been to the pro bowl every year since he was drafted, and will continue to dominate the offensive game for years to come.

#3:Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry, in my opinion, is the best running back in the league. He solidified his spot as the #1 Running Back for what he did to opposing defenses last season. With over 2,000 Rushing yards and 17 Touchdowns, I think it’s safe to say he deserved the Offensive player of the year award. Since 2018, He’s had over 1,000 Rushing yards every season, and over 12 rushing Touchdowns, and while running backs don’t usually last past 30-33 years of age, Derrick Henry will continue to truck defenders for the Titans while leading them to the playoffs.

#4:Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers, whilst leading the Packers to a 13-3 record and bringing them to the NFC Championship, Won MVP last season. It was an amazing year for Rodgers, as he threw for 48 Touchdowns, 4,299 yards, and a measly 5 interceptions. Unfortunately, Rodgers couldn’t bring the Packers to the Superbowl, but he did solidify a spot on the NFL’s best players with last season’s stats. Even though this year is his last season with the Packers, he looks to take the team up and beyond with a Superbowl win.

#5:Deandre Hopkins

Deandre Hopkins is one of, if not the best wide receiver in football. In my opinion, he definitely is, which is why he’s the only wide receiver on this list. Last year, Hopkins totaled 115 receptions, 1,407 yards, and 6 touchdowns, and he also had arguably the best catch last season, going up to grab the football in the endzone with no time remaining, against 3 defenders. Those stats and that play alone deserves a spot in the top 5 players in the NFL. Although the Cardinals didn’t make the playoffs last year, they’re looking like Divisional game hopefuls this year with an improved defense.
