The Eagle’s Eye hosts student workshop with Texas State professors

The Eagle’s Eye will host a workshop for students interested in working in the media industry after high school.
The event titled “Media Jobs of the Future” will be on Jan. 14 at 5 p.m. in RM 223.
Two Texas State University professors will discuss new media jobs and the skills necessary to work in this quickly evolving career field.
Speakers at the event include:
- Kym Fox, Journalism Sequence Coordinator in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication
- Dan Blasingame, lecturer in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication focusing on New Media Studies
Presentations will cover the following topics:
- How to obtain, manipulate and analyze data to tell stories
- How to visualize and illustrate data to tell stories
- How to build an audience using programming, analytics and design with online media
- New roles/jobs in the modern news room
Pizza and refreshments will be provided after the workshop.
