Student journalists from Akins won 15 Individual Achievement Awards this weekend during the Spring Convention of the Interscholastic Press League Conference at the University of Texas campus.

Students from across Texas attended the convention, which includes the announcement of the Individual Achievement Awards, which are based on published clips produced by student journalists. Akins journalists won awards in the following categories:
