The video game awards are going to start on December 8 and it’s going to reveal which game is going to take the “Game Of The Year” title.

The top contenders are A Plague Tale: Requiem, Elden Ring, God Of War Ragnarök, Horizon Forbidden West, Stray, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. These games are respected and deserved but the main ones are God of War: Ragnarök and Elden Ring.

God of War Ragnarök is a follow-up to the 2018 God Of War, which won the Game of the Year title that year. The improvements made in Ragnarök, which was just released in early November, have impressed fans and exceeded expectations. The story is a compelling and heartwarming story to play through. The incredible father and son storyline is compelling enough for anyone in which to easily become invested.

Ragnarök’s main competition to becoming a repeat winner of Game of the Year is Elden Ring, which is the successor to the popular Dark Souls series.
Many game streamers and critics have hailed Elden Ring as one of the best games out there. It’s racked up thousands of hours of live gameplay streaming and at its peak, it had almost 1 million simultaneous players on the game based on Steam chart statistics. It’s garnered a lot of conversation with streamers recording themselves having the most incredible moments and funny moments in gaming.

Another hotly contested category to watch is Best Multiplayer and the nominees are Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Multiversus, Overwatch 2, Splatoon 3, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shedder’s Revenge.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare II follows up on 2019 Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and improves the multiplayer so much. The gameplay is so much fun and the weapon progression is so much better. The players don’t have to level up the same weapon 80 times to get the best attachment. Now you have to use different weapons to get their attachments which doesn’t make the game boring in progression. Also, the game is fun to sit back, relax, or go full toxic mode to the players when you win or lose.
Multiversus is a platformer fighting game and it’s really fun. You can play with a duo or play free-for-all game mode. The game has Warner Bros. characters like Bugs Bunny, Lebron “freaking” James, Batman, and many more. What makes this game unique from Smash is the perk system where your teammates have buffs to be a better team. Multiversus is a fun game for you and your friends to have a great time.

The next contender is Overwatch 2. Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play, 5 versus 5 team-based game. It’s very fun and less annoying with two tanks with shields. The game is very fast paced and different meta changes to keep the game fresh. This game can be very hardcore for those who want to play competitively.

Splatoon 3 is a continuation to the Splatoon series, which is known for being a less violent multiplayer shooting combat game. This updated version of the game featured new maps, weapons and special moves as well as a whole new story mode and other quality-of-life improvements. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge brings back the old-school retro arcade beat-em-up braller-style game. In addition to local co-op mode, Shredder’s Revenge features co-op for up to six players online.
