Boys basketball advances to playoffs

This past Tuesday, February 11, marked the last regular season home game for the boy’s basketball team.

For seniors, it was a memorable night due to the fact that it was their last time playing on their home court. “It sucks because I’m gonna miss playing in front of all my friends and family,” senior guard Jared Mendez said. “I wanted to give this game my all and come out with a victory more than anything.”

The Eagle’s took on the Westlake Chaparrals and dominated in and outside the paint the entire game. The Eagles took the lead within the first couple of minutes in the first quarter and kept it throughout the game resulting in a 75-55 Eagle victory.

Ending the regular season with an overall record of 18-12 and 6-6 in district, The Eagle’s have advanced to the 2013-2014 basketball playoffs.

The first game will be played against the Pflugerville Panthers on February 18 at Westlake High School. Game time has not been determined but we will announce as soon as possible.
